I am an undeclared major. I do not know what I want to do with my life. Growing up I had always wanted to work with animals. I also wanted to be able to work outside and not in an office environment. A large animal vet would be one of many dream jobs. As I advanced through school I fell in love with mathematics. Math has always excited me because there is a straightforward and logical solution to every problem. Also, there are so many things to do in the math field. Such as, being an accountant, a statistician, engineering, architecture, teaching and so many more. Another major that also really intrigued me is plant science. I would really enjoy becoming a botanist and teaching at a high school as an Ag teacher. I have wanted to pursue all of these majors for quite some time now. The only problem I have is that I love doing everything so I don’t know what will make me that happiest in the long run. All majors seem so fun and interesting to learn about. Each thing is so different that I want to learn about everything. The major that I can consider the most is mathematics because the world will always need a mathematician at some point. So, it is the most reliable major. I did not choose any of my majors based on the monetary aspect of it. My mentality is that I need to be happy with my work. If I’m unhappy the money will not fix it. The only requirement I have when choosing my major is that it must make me happy.
